November 9th-16th

Bo, Butter and I left Gloucester Point, VA on Saturday November 9th off shore headed to Myrtle Beach SC. This is a 2 1/2 day sail. We left about 10 am and three other boats left also about 3 hours ahead of us. It started out beautiful and great weather in the Atlantic Ocean, had to motor with our main sail up reefed for balance. When it was my watch(11pm) Bo went below to sleep ( about 1 1/2 hours later) the radar showed on our AIS a boat about a mile from us, no big deal but it got closer so woke up Bo and we changed course. The catamaran called and said sorry for coming in our area. Off we go again, Bo goes below and for about another 1 1/2 hours and we came to a way point on our chart plotter and I could not get the screen from buzzing SO called....Bo...again this time he stayed up.

The wind picked up, waves came and we were in a blow. The best way to describe the waves, it was like going through a car wash but it came right over the bow of the boat in sheets. All 3 of us stay up with life jackets on and shackeled in .We were in contact with another sailboat all night. In the morning about 8 I got sick, flu..so down below I went. Poor Bo and Butter were the ones at the helm for the remainder of the trip. I would wake up when there was a huge bang and knew we were at the bottom of a wave. We later found out from a friend that monitored wind speed and wave height, winds were 20-35 with waves 11-12 ft.

Of the 3 boats we were with we were the only ones with no damage done, we ended up going into Beaufort NC which is only a day and half trip but it turned into 2 1/2 days because of the weather.

After resting for 3 days we went out again and are now in Myrtle Beach for about 5 days. We will wait for a weather window again and plan to go to Cumberland Island GA and meet up with friends and continue our journey to Florida so we can cross over to the Bahamas the first week or 2 of Dec.

I forgot how much fun it is to have the dolphins swim along side the boat they play games with you so fun.

We are back at the marina we spent 6 months at last winter, we love it and so good to catch up with friends.

Going out with 5 couples for our favorite pizza tonight then over to Joyce and Ray's for dessert.

We have been so blessed to make such good friends along life's way.

I am sure you have all heard that Butter has developed diabetes so we have an appointment with a vet here for another blood check on Monday to be sure he is on the right dose, he is awesome and doing great.

We have got a busy schedule while here in MB. sure hope we have time to do some maintanence on the boat. Sat. pizza, Sunday at Ted and Jerrie's , Monday all of us out for steaks to Bo and Ted's favorite place cat to the vet, Tuesday to the Palace Theatre for the Jersey Boys Xmas and plan to leave again on Wednesday (weather providing).

The pictures I am including are of 2 of the crew in there favorite spots when we are at sea. And the group out for pizza.

Thanks for the memories!!!! Life's many treasures!!!
